Juliet Hinely is originally from Lexington, Virginia and comes to Elsewhere via St. Augustine, Florida and, most

recently, Interlochen, Michigan. Juliet creates objects and site-specific installations emulating souvenirs, historic sites,

and tourist attractions. Inspired by places that draw throngs of visitors and have long and winding histories, she uses

art-making to explore spaces that function as intersections of individual and societal significance. Juliet makes artwork

to mediate and interpret the varying histories of a place a time, and create a sense of continuity and appreciation for a

place’s past and present identity.
