Dianna is an artist from Greensboro, NC who is presently enrolled as a student at Appalachian State University in
Boone, NC. She is double majoring in Studio Art and Art Management with a minor in Statistics, and later plans to
attend graduate school and acquire her MFA. Loughlin’s studio practice explores drawing, mixed media, and connecting
traditional art with contemporary concepts.
Loughlin has worked and interned at multiple museums, galleries, and artist residencies, and is currently employed as
Curator of the Appalachian State Looking Glass Gallery; she also works as a Gallery Assistant at the Turchin Center for
the Visual Arts and the Catherine J. Smith Gallery in Boone, NC. Along with being an artist and student, Loughlin is a
member of the Arts Management Organization at Appalachian State and assists with Life Drawing sessions offered by
the Art Department.
In addition, Loughlin enjoys making friends continuously, exploring things creatively, drinking coffee excessively, and
eating peanut butter most obsessively. She collects rusty objects and thinks mayonnaise is hilarious.
