Aliya, Elsewhere's 2009 Community Coordinator managed internal and external community relations. This includes

organizing SEA (South Elm Alliance) events (run through the Tourist Agency in the front of 608) which are designed to

increase Elsewhere's impact on and interactions with our neighborhood, and internal outreach initiatives which bring

Elsewhere into Greensboro in a meaningful way. Internally, she managed the kitchen and chores co-op as a part of

making our Elsewhere community run extraordinarily. Outside of the kitchen, Aliya can't stop organizing community

workshops and adventures. Aliya is dedicated to people making a difference and being recognized within and outside of

Elsewhere. Aliya is originally from Delray Beach, Florida, and graduated from Hampshire College in Amherst,

Massachusetts with a BA in Community Organizing and Installation Art. She sews in her sleep.
